The 2012 Man Booker Prize shortlist has been announced. The six books chosen are:

Bring up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel
The Lighthouse by Alison Moore
Umbrella by Will Self
Narcopolis by Jeet Thayil
The Man Booker Prize 2012 The winner of the 2012 prize will be announced on Tuesday 16 October.
