Patrick McGuinness The Last Hundred Days (Seren Books)

Alison Pick Far to Go (Headline Review)

Jane Rogers The Testament of Jessie Lamb (Sandstone Press)

The shortlist of six authors will be announced on Tuesday 6 September. The winner of the 2011 Man Booker Prize for Fiction will be announced on Tuesday 18 October.

  2. It is an interesting list, I agree, Flighty. One of the books - "Snowdrops" - was the Book at Bedtime on BBC Radio 4 at the beginning of this year. I thought it was very good. I'm not familiar with the other books on the list. I'm sure they are all very good.
